What you see is what you eat

The first time I discovered the benefits of Google Maps local guides was when I was traveling with my family and my friend in Sweden. We stayed in a hotel and my friend offered to look after my little son while me and my husband go for a quick dinner.

We had very little time to choose the place to go for dinner, so I decided to try Google Maps (my husband usually used TripAdvisor before). I won! I quickly found a place nearby (Sjobaren Fish Seafood) which had a excellent reviews and photos looked promising. We decided to give this place a chance.

The dinner was fantastic: great food and wine. So I decided to take a picture of the dishes and post it to Google Maps as well, so others could see what a great place it is.

After few days I check my Google Maps contributions page and I was so surprised that the pictures already had thousands of views. Now I understood that I can make a difference by contributing pictures of my favorite places and dishes. I think of the people like me that day, who suddenly have to find a place to eat and have to make the right choice. I am here to help them!

This has started my new passion: to make beautiful pictures of the dishes which stand out from the crowed and post them to Google Maps. So whenever I visit a restaurant serving delicious and quality food, I share my experience in Google Maps by posting photos of the masterpieces made by Chefs and labeling the dishes.

So far I have posted 266 photos that have more than 1 million views. This inspires me to take more pictures of great places. Some of the pictures posted on Google Maps I love most:
