@StephenAbraham @SunMoon thank you both! Was great meeting you, Sun, your photos are absolutely ridiculously amazing. And Stephen, always a seeing you and was a pleasure getting some of the best selfies with you haha.
Great post @SP31 !! So deep, so philosophical, so amazing! I love the many facets of you that I got to know in person or through your posts! Thanks for the laughs (there were plenty of them) and the fun memories of Connect Live!
Wonderful recap @SP31 you gaved detailed information about event and your journey as a local guide, Thank you for sharing with us…
Wow, @SP31 , just wow. I mean I already knew it was going to be a great recap from the first sentence but I wasn’t expecting it to be so good, or to be crying and not even because of Connect Live, I’m just so happy for you!
You accomplished a lot so far, there’s no way I could have imagined you being shy or anything you described from your past (teach me, master, lol). You were always so fun to be around at the event, and always with a smile in your face, it’s really great to have met you and spent some time with you.
You’re one of my role models now, even if I end up beating you on foosball on our one on one
@SP31 Thanks so much Steve for sharing your personal story of transformation in this recap of the recent Connect. Love that video as well. I think if I were giving out awards, hee hee, you’d get one from me too for your post!
Double Thumbs up !
@AdrianLunsong Thanks so much for reading my reflection and for the generous words, Adrian. : ) And thanks, of course, for providing tips for writing a great recap! I’m so glad we got to get to know each other more this year in between morning sessions and other random, yet memorable fun, haha. You’re truly a gem to this community, Adrian. And I LOVE your honesty.
@NirmalTeja Many thanks for taking the time to read my recap and for the kind words.
@Jesi I’ve got to admit, your response got to me - it was such a pleasure finally meeting you as well and getting to spend time with you too (even if it was being beaten at LEAST 3 times by you, haha). What a coincidence, though, because you are actually MY role model. I’m a witness to your progress (in various aspects) throughout this program - and whether it be your contributions through Maps (level 10, people!), your caring and guiding ways on Local Guides Connect, your various meet-ups and bringing your community together, or making very solid and helpful suggestions about changes you’d like to see in the program (and standing strong behind them), you are truly blazing new trails in terms of what it means to be a Local Guide and a benchmark for greatness as a human being. Thank you so much, Jesi.
@MariaNgo you are SO kind, thank you so much for reading my reflection and watching my video as well : ) . Thoroughly enjoyed your post as well - reading everyone’s recollection and stories has been the absolute best.

Who would have thought that behind that big smile there was a shy child?. I loved reading your story, @SP31 and as you state in your post, we all have one.
This is mine:
I used to travel around the world and wrote reviews about the best restaurants and the most luxurious hotels. Until cancer forced me to stay home. It was then when I opened the map of the small town where I live for the first time.
It looked like a ghost town. EVERYTHING was missing: the schools, the Police Department, the Church… At the beginning I felt guilty for having taken so long to discover this, but then I had an idea:
I had many hours of “waiting time” ahead: medical shifts, surgeries, radiation therapy… So instead of being sad, I decided to do something productive, and I uploaded my entire town on Google Maps. Cancer gave me many lessons, and one of them was that doing good, starts from home.
It was an honor to meet you. I hope life brings us back together someday.
Saludos desde Argentina,
Carolina
