While writing a post about some places in the country ‘Mauritius’, I am not able to find this location under ‘Add location to this discussion’ section.
Please help how to get this location entered.

The Location line available here on Connect is limited to some select cities.
What you can do is share the Maps link to the place in your text. That will work.

The location field is intended for locating the area where you are writing about.
In the Location you can ideally add every village / town / city available in Google Maps, @Kumaarsantosh , but not addresses (streets) nor businesses.
I’ve tried myself by adding Dubreuil as a location (it is a small village in the island) and it works fine.
However, my suggestion is to always add the mai city of the area, because in this way your post can be found for the Local guides that have a “favorite Location” in Connect. For your reference: You can now follow posts about your favorite locations on Connect
What are you exactly trying to add?

However, I am referring here the country itself which is not available in the location. For small city and/or villages I can understand but country name should have been there at least.
Here I am referring to ‘MAURITIUS’ as a country.

I can agree with you that in a small island the name of the country itself can make sense, @Kumaarsantosh , but in a big country it would be indeed less useful.
I am assuming that it would not be possible to discriminate between big and small countries. Am I wrong, @InaS ?

Não posso afirmar com certeza, mas acho que inserir um país no campo local não é permitido.
Não tenho certeza pois fiz um teste agora. Não sei se o resultado apresentado é um comportamento esperado ou incomum.
Tentei adicionar vários países no campo “local”. Nenhum apareceu. E sem aparecer o nome não foi permitido adicionar qualquer país, inclusive “Maurício”.
Fiz o teste utilizando o fórum no seu inglês USA e em português do Brasil. Nomes de países não apareceram para ser adicionados. E quando apareceram, referem-se a uma cidade com nome de país dentro do país ou em outros países.

Thanks you @gmapas for testing this at your end. I fully concur your test results as I also tried the same and got the result similar to this.
So in this case I will try to put the link of the location as a part of my message post as suggested above by @MortenCopenhagen .
