What to Add in Google Maps

Hi, I’m James Prabhakar from Chennai. I’m currently level 7 local guide. I have been involved in teaching education and community work for a long time.

I have been doing international travel for the last four decades since 1979. The first two countries I visited in that year were Singapore and Indonesia. At the time there were no mobile Phones with GPS or digital maps. . We had to rely only on the printed tourist guides with flat maps, to visit the places of interest.

I have traveled about 25 countries in Asia, Middle East, Europe, Africa and the Americas. The Continents I have yet to visit are Australia and South America. Hope I will have an opportunity to visit those continents too shortly.

Since the last many years, Google Maps becoming an integral part of my everyday travel. Not only me but everyone whom I know I actively promote the use of Google maps. Location sharing via google map is a compulsory activity for all the members of my family.

When I visit new countries or new places, I use Google maps extensively to find Hotels, Restaurants, Food courts, Entertainment places and all the locations that I need to look for. I think I have the same responsibility to share the items the way I used others’ information.

What I share in Google Map:

I share almost everything that I come across in my trips Supermarkets, Restaurants, lounges, Picnic areas, parks, Educational institutions, worship places

Google map provides plenty of opportunities to the Local guides to add very useful and needy information to the general public.
My advice is don’t just confine to one area , but what ever the location that comes to your route or travel, Add via your google map with relevant information.
