My passions are parenthood and special needs children, clean plant-based eating, environmental friendliness, and sustainable living, urban farming, community outreach (especially with regard to positive, rewarding, skills-based youth recreational activities, and also displaced/homeless outreach). So, what I love sharing most on Google Maps is always centered around outings that encompass one or more of these causes! I share restaurants and photos of food often because I’m adamant about supporting locally owned independent businesses and encouraging entrepreneurship! So, I post about independently owned, vegetarian and vegan-friendly eateries that cater to the needs of gluten-free families or those of us who need allergy-free foods. I also share the locales of coffee shops that brew and sell fair trade tea and coffee. One of the most important bits of information that I share is about urban growers and the plentiful outdoor farmer’s markets around Atlanta like Truly Living Well Urban Farms, Habesha Gardens, Decatur Farmer’s Market, Patchwork City Farms, Metro Atlanta Urban Farm, Urban Sprout Farm, and Freedom Farmers Market. Supporting urban growers, sustainable food sourcing, the elimination of food deserts, and holistic living is the future of America and will inevitably help climate change decrease significantly.
In addition, I post about child-friendly activities that I take my kids out to participate in, like “Sunday Funday” at Woodruff Arts Center and The High Museum of Art. We love Imagine It! Children’s Museum of Atlanta, Historic Old 4th Ward Skate Park, the various sprinkler parks around the city, walking the Atlanta Beltline, and stopping at Monday Night Brewing-Garage, where mom and dad can indulge in a locally brewed cold craft beer, and the kids can sip on non-alcoholic ginger ale while playing safely in the fully loaded play area or outside on the fire pit laden out-door lounge! One of my children has autism, so I am cognizant about sharing reputable and effective therapy centers like WBT Therapy-Works, holistic, non-invasive therapy measures like Tiny Yogis children’s yoga, where we take chess lessons, swim lessons, tennis lessons, and about sensory-friendly play for my fellow special needs parents, like the two Whole Foods stores in the metropolitan area (Kennesaw and Avalon) that have indoor play areas.
Finally, I frequently share photos of appetizing, scrumptious, tantalizing food, and just beautiful places.
