What the Local Guides program means to me

I cannot remember exactly the date when I entered the local guide program but there is one thing I can be sure of is everything has changed in my life ever since.

As I love travelling and getting to know new countries and cultures, everytime I arrive in a new country, my first reaction is to search in Google Maps the activities and the must-see attractions available in the nearby area and beyond

Whenever I go to a new place such as a hotel, a restaurant, indoor and outdoor activities and places of interest, I try to share my experience and views with the community and to all people looking for a useful advice before taking a decision. Most of the time, I try to illustrate the magic of the moment with a picture.

Being a local guide requires autonomy, rigour, impartiality and resistance to pressure. When I visit a place I try to find what is unique about it and what makes it worth visiting and worth experiencing.

This program has a great impact in my life because it makes me always in search of experiencing new things, new places. I realize that i can be very influential on people’s choice, thus the need for a flawless quality and continuous improvement.

Indeed, I try to improve the the way I provide the information so as to make it more relevant and understandable to everybody

This is helpful not only to individuals looking for a nice place like a restaurant or a bar to have a good time with friends or to meet new people but only to professionnals because some comments can help them improve their service.

What is interesting is that the other local guides help me also because I learn a lot from them. When I make a research on Google maps, I always give credit to the local guides comments, because to me, their posts do matter above all.
