What the Local Guides Program means to me

The Google Local Guides program is important to me because ordinary people are able to contribute facts and verify information that other Google Maps users find helpful.

The Connect event is a great idea for local minded contributors to meet and share other ideas that are useful for digital cartography.

As the world is s gearing towards automation, artificial intelligence, machine learning and internet of things, it is important to create a pool of data that will facilitate the work of decision processing algorithms.

As a technical person, the Local Guides program allows me to visualize the world as a global village since it is possible to have a virtual tour in three dimension of any place on earth.

As a local guide, I feel that the onus is on me to verify information, add missing information to build a database that is intelligent enough to allow for automated mobility.
