Hey everyone, I’m Janelle.
The Local Guides program has been an awesome window to all that’s around me -sharing my favorite spots, reviewing places I find interesting and talking about their services, giving recommendations and also viewing the recommendations of others in the community.
What I love most about it is the great sense of responsibility through discovery that it gives me, I’ve been helped greatly by the not-so glowing reviews others give of places and I feel like I’ve also helped save people money and time through my reviews.
The “Contribution and Edit Map” features have been so amazing to use, I’ve (re)named Emergency Services centers that weren’t previously at that location and was wrongly named on the map; I felt this will better help those looking for such services and I remember a time when I was looking for a tennis facility in a new area I was at and got that information right from the map because a wonderful Local Guide managed to name/categorize the facility. I really love this community and can’t wait to share personal experiences when I meet up with my fellow Local Guides.
