I’m completely in love with discovering new places and, as a vegetarian and mum of two, it isn’t always easy to find suitable places where I can take my children and have a nice meal. I’m a foodie but there aren’t always great options for vegetarians/vegans. I believe in the power of the Google Guides platform as a tool for sharing places, tips and ratings of restaurants, venues, bars, cafes, hotels, etc. My youngest son is severely allergic to dairy and eggs and that means I always have to be aware of the places I’m taking him to. I strongly feel this is a community where we can help each other, provide useful information that can be helpful to others and build up collaborative and complete guides of cities and towns. I’ve found fantastic vegan little gems in London very near my house that have meant I didn’t have to worry about my son having an allergic reaction and I’ve been able to enjoy a nice meal there with my family.
Sharing experiences is an enriching activity, it’s a give and take. You learn from the community and you share what you can with everyone else, hoping it can help them as much as it’s helped you. I found the place I work in now thanks to Google Maps, I found a nice and friendly yoga studio near home thanks to Google Maps and Local Guides ratings, I use Google Maps everytime I take my children out so that I’m confident I’m taking them to a place that ticks the boxes that are important to me. Local Guides is a project now so entrenched in my life I usually cannot wait to log on to my account and leave a review whenever I discover somewhere new. It would be impossible to show you everywhere I have found thanks to Local Guides but here are some examples. Enjoy!
