Hi Google local guide team! My name is Maxim. I am from Kiev, Ukraine. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to apply for the Connect Live 2020 conference.
I have been working with Google maps for travel and in my city for more than 3 years. And I would like to highlight 4 things that I learned through the Local Guides program
- I get an incredible experience of photographing sights from different angles. It is always interesting to look at an object from different angles.
Show hidden places from tourists. I became a responsible traveler. After all, it is important to show the real facts. I always imagine myself on the spot, the person who plans
a ride while sitting at home. What would he be interested to see or find out.
- Communication and meeting new people. It’s so cool when a person from another continent answers your review, and after 2 months you meet and chat over a cup of coffee.
Google unites us.
3 I began to better navigate in a foreign city thanks to a lot of useful information in Google Maps. My speed of movement increased. In one day it turns out
see a lot more than before, thanks to the recommendations of the guides. Now it is possible to find unusual places, such as secret beaches near Lisbon, about
which only the locals knew.
- The program “Local Guides”, changed my view not only on travel, but inspired the improvement of services of local companies in my hometown.
I became interested in the question: how to improve the services of companies in my city? Local guides communicate with hotels, restaurants and shops through
Feedback improves their services, and in return they receive many happy customers. There is a feeling that the team of guides makes the world a better place, and I am part of it!
I can summarize that the program “Local Guides” means a lot to me in expanding my knowledge, helping small businesses,
making new friends and meeting people from different areas
My goal is to make an increasing contribution to the services of local companies, to help people navigate and simplify their daily lives. Thank you very much!
