Knowledge has always been something I searched for in every place, even as a child I was interested in how everything works in every corner of the world. Hoping one day it will be easier to know about it all.
When I first discovered Google Maps, I was instantly drawn to it. Looking into every corner and exploring in my free time. On discovering the Local Guide program I realized that now, not only can I gain knowledge, I can also share my discoveries and opinions.
I am in charge of a garments manufacturing factory, and I know that most of my employees thoroughly enjoy exploring Google Maps, especially the street view feature. These are people who do not have the financial resources to travel abroad, thus as a Local Guide, I share my findings with them, giving them knowledge on various places abroad, even about our own home streets. And this is how this program has affected my life. I am not only seen as an employer in the eyes of my employees anymore, the fact that I can teach my fellow employees my experiences and give them knowledge makes me feel like I have accomplished who I wanted to be as a child. To become someone who chases knowledge, and distributes it to anyone who will listen. The smiles I get from my employees whenever I tell them about an interesting place is worth it all.
