The google local guide program means a lot to me because i know what it feels like to be stuck in the middle of nowhere without the slightest clue on how to get to your destination.
i joined the local guide program due to my quest for travelling and exploring new places and so far, it has been a really wonderful experience.
Through the local guide program i get to document my life in the easiest way ever, the local guide program gives me a voice, a voice to tell my story to a whole bunch of diverse people.
the local guide program helps me show my creative side because you have to be extremely detailed in giving reviews. that way you are painting a graphic picture, someone that has no clue about the place would immediately have an idea about what the place looks like. Also a lot of efforts also go into the art of taking pictures and videos that tells stories that people can resonate with.
the local guide program is a way of promoting community and grassroots development. through several local guide meetups i have been able to meet a lot of incredible individuals that share the same vision like me. and through brainstorming sessions at these meetups we have been able to come up with strategies to make the user experience on maps better in our community.
It gives me joy when i think of how much my contributions have helped people. its also an personal accomplishment for me belonging to a community of people that are going extra mile to make the world a better place.
