As a local guide we collaborate with many People, we work together, we help each other to understand, we share knowledge from different prospectives & share our works from different parts of the world.
From this we can learn / acquire soft skills, which will be beneficial for our future days.
First you all have a question
What are soft skills?
A character feature that enhances spatial awareness and increases one’s ability to complete tasks is called a soft skill. Soft skills, which are non-technical talents and related to our daily interactions and jobs, are also important.
Soft Skills can be learned :
- Communication
- Professionalism
- Teamwork
- Networking
- Critical thinking
Why & How acquiring soft skills are beneficial :
Soft skills are important because every business recognizes the importance of strong communication skills, and employers routinely place these abilities at the forefront of their list of desired qualities in candidates. Although professionalism is likely the most difficult soft skill to teach since it is a mix of several skills rather than a single ability, there are activities and tactics that may be used to help students develop this quality. Being able to collaborate well enough with your organization is not only valued also required in the majority of organizations. Additionally, people may develop their soft skills through training and coaching, as well as by studying and modeling how others effectively engage with their peers and deal with challenging interpersonal circumstances.
As a local guide i learned how to overcome fear to write and share my learnings,
I used to attend meetups and try to help the organisers, from this i learned how to work as a team, how to collaborate.

Hello @AkterAshik
One thing we try to do always on connect is share post and topics that are within the range of Travel, Photography, Food and Drinks, .There are others like “How tos” meet-up and achievements. All these are as related to local guides program and Google maps.
This is a very nice inspiring post but how it relates to the local guides program or the maps is what I really can’t see. Unfortunately it’s impossible to delete a post on connect but you can edit it to suit the range of topics on connect.
Perhaps you will like to read, what topics are discussed here. Thank you for your understanding and co-operation and see you around on the forum.
Happy guiding
Cheers

Hello @AkterAshik
Please use the tagging tool " @" followed by the username when you are replying to someone in particular here on connect. Just like I did to yours above.
What I’m saying is, please change the topic and content of your post to make it a post on
- Photography
- Travel
- Food and drinks
- Or some local story from your part of the world
Other than that your post if off-topic if it doesn’t concern local guides or the maps. Hope you understand better now.

Great post. Thanks for posting. I find it highly relevant here on Connect.
I think soft skills also include gaining experience with interacting with people from different countries.
One thing that I learned is how words can be perceived differently. Once I commented on some issue by writing it could be due to cultural differences. From the reactions, it was clearly read as a negative and condescending comment toward people from select countries. It was not my intention. In my perception cultures are not linked to race. Culture is the practices and preferences we get from living in a society. To me, culture is something independent of national borders. So I learned this is not the case for everyone.
Maybe you would care to share some more specific examples of soft skills you have achieved from being a Local Guide.
Cheers

One tip: When you prepare an image to illustrate your post, it also (and automatically) becomes the icon on the index pages. If you make the image so it is 70% wider than the height it will not be cut and look odd on the index pages as illustrated here:
You don’t need to repeat the heading in the image. It gives you a chance to communicate better and more clearly when the text in an image is supplemental to the heading.
