Being a Google Local Guide over the years has been quite an experience for me, call it a lifetime one. It is one thing that I do without stress or hassles irrespective of the time and place, depending on my flexibility with time wherever I am. The day I discovered that I could post pictures on my Google Map, I felt that’s so nice but the coolest of it all was the fact that I could earn points and attain different levels based on commitment and dedication to it. The most interesting thing I’ve done happened last year when I visited a family friends restaurant situated nearly in the hearts of Lagos, Nigeria. It was my first at the restaurant and the ambience left my feet in the sky, such a beautiful place to dine and unwind. After having a sumptuous meal, I went out with the owner of the restaurant to get some things needed for the restaurant’s beautification and on ordering a ride, I discovered that I restaurant name isn’t on Google Map despite the fact that it’s registered. I inquired from the owner if she has any idea of her restaurant not being on the map but it was apparent she knew nothing about Google Map. So, I unlocked my phone and searched the address on the map again and suggested the name the restaurant to Google for approval to be on the map. Few minutes later, I got a mail from Google that they will review the suggested restaurant and get back to me. Guess what? I am so delighted to tell you that that restaurant is now on Google Map! I feel so accomplished and so impressed at myself. THANK YOU GOOGLE!!!
