Rather than giving reviews to popular restaurants on Google Map, as a Local Guide, I found another “three things” very interesting, fun and worth mentioning !
First, to feel cheered up. I always get surprised when receiving notifications of “the increasing views” from my Google Map. What actually makes me feel prompted is, I see the styles of the preferred photos. It means, the next time, when I review my experience,I will be able to provide better quality of photos and captions to all the other Google Map users who are looking for recommendations.
The second fun thing is, to know something matters. Still remember the first time I saw 2,000,000 views celebration with Google Map Team, I couldn’t believe my “contribution” had brought such “immense” influence on Google Map in the past years. To my knowledge, what I have done was just about adding photos to the places where I have checked in, and by the way noted them with simple words. Such results really shocked me. I realized the effectiveness of sharing, is a sweet reward that brings you great vibe in life. This is how I feel fun when knowing something matters, and I do love it.
Last but ain’t the least fun thing is, to feel highly involved. I do enjoy “adding a missing place” on Google Map. There was a time, when I went hiking with friends on a beautiful trail on a ridgeline of grassland. Suddenly, the dense fog came over and made our vision into completely white and misty, which turned out to be a totally different world. The moment, I felt so excited that I opened Google Map, trying to “add a missing place"- on an actually non-existing place-and named it after “The Grand Mystery Grassland.” I was looking forward to seeing Google Map Admin approve it as a new attraction, added by me.
But well, a few weeks later, my proposal was rejected. I failed to add new “The Grand Mystery Grassland” to Google Map and honestly, I was a bit sad. In spite of this, I feel more trustworthy of searching results on Google Map afterwards because information is seriously filtered and screened:D. So now, I still enjoy “interacting” with Google Map, loving to share various resources as well as good ideas with people around the internet world.
Why am I a Local Guide? I strongly believe, people around the world (including myself) will count on Google Map information more and more. There are absolute reasons to contribute ideas so as to refer to the shared reviews by someone from the other side. Then, why not keep giving and discovering something fun and interesting on Google Map in our daily life?! Cheers!
