What makes a true Local Guide family? - the way we present to each other

It’s still a lockdown in some parts of the world and and some parts are about to open for public during this ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the unfavorable situation some of us are utilizing the technological advantage to get connected globally through virtual meetups. Some of us are locked in the heart of each other but have missed the communication because of inaccessible internet either due to geography or any other cause. This is the beauty of localguidesconnect platform; I suppose.

In Nepal, we’re permitted to make limited visits with mandatory precautions. The public vehicles are banned and private vehicles are allowed to operate on an odd/even basis in alternate days. The travel pass is required to move from one city to another city. Wearing a mask is compulsory outside the home. Some of the people are turning this situation an opportunity to expose their hidden talent. The migrate people because of urbanization are now returned back to countryside and became more close to the nature. Yoga and meditation, which our ancestors invented, have become a part of our daily routine. The local foods have once again took their place over processed fast foods.

Back to the family, of course! the union is ours but the the platform was the localguidesconnect. All of us were introduced with each other through previous local guides’ meetups. Then we became so closed that now even the family functions have become the reasons to gather. Hence is today’s birthday celebration. Myself and @Surendra had birthday yesterday but due to odd/even number plate rule we weren’t able to meet yesterday. Today, after almost 4 months’ gap, we all met, cheered and added one more memory to our local guide journey with unique experience of health precaution and social distancing. Now we are not just the local guides but the local guide brothers and local guide sisters. We care each other an we unite for our common LG goal. We are one of the local family within this global family.

No more handshaking as a consequence of physical distancing. Namaste! to everyone from the Himalayas. It’s what we culturally do.

Hope soon the world will be ready for us to explore. A huge respect to all the local families in different regions of the world. Stay safe! Long live our family!

Thank you so much @C_T . Yeah! We turned into family friends. So if one of us hosts a meetup then there use to be 3 virtual co-hosts.
