I am working as a Local Guide since last 2 years. Initially I was not much involved. I was using Google Maps only for finding out the route and distances between two places. That is one of the most useful tool of the Google Maps. I was used to receive notification from the maps asking me to share my reviews and also answers of the quick questions for the places I visited. Then I realize how the information we post on the maps is useful to other people.Then purposely I started to write reviews, post photos all with dedication. Now my presence on Google Maps is not only limited to finding out routes and distances. As a Local Guide I am contributing with publishing lists, adding new places, editing places etc.
When I write a review or post a photo, whether it is a positive review or negative review, I know it is going to help others to take a good decision. One small but perfect review can say a lot. One good photo can tell a story of thousand words. So I always try to be precise while writing a review and wish to share true and correct information.
My review about Hotel Park View, New Delhi (https://goo.gl/maps/wiacR5SJcGGWVrrY8) is one of such a small but precise review. From the review and the photos I uploaded, one can get a correct idea about how the hotel is.
Another such example of my exclusive review is about J.M Road (Jungli Maharaj Road), Pune (https://goo.gl/maps/QCw8XV4dfYgBAXFFA). I have written a descriptive information and share good photos with the help of which one can get correct idea about the place.
Google maps is loaded with huge information and at the same time there is infinite place available to load more information about the places. As a local guide this is what our duty to share information and knowledge what we have with us. Knowledge is the thing which can be increased by sharing with others. With the help of this knowledge and information we can be prepared for the different situations and understand the life in better way. So I believe when I as a Local Guide perform my duties with dedication, Local guide Program at the same time works as a ‘Life Guide’ for me.
It is a great feeling knowing how many people we have helped. This is been always a joyful experience. And I want that joy to be spread. So I have been always telling my friends, relatives and colleagues about ‘Local Guide Program’. I’ll continue act it as long as I can…
