What Local Guides program mean to me: A call to touch humanity

I am Oladele Fameso. I have been a local guide for a couple of years now.
I stumbled on the Local Guides program on one of my many outings; I was heading to a new location, it was a beach somewhere on Lagos Island, Lagos, Nigeria .

The wise decision was to make use of a google map and then it occurred to me that I had to download the application on my phone for easier access…I guess that started the relationship because thereafter I got a couple of push notifications to review the location and if I wanted to sign up unto the Program. I did sign up.

The program means various things to me that I would enumerate now:

  1. I get to help the populace or other people make informed choices about a place, business or location they are set visit or have not visited in a long time.

  2. I get to help, better existing businesses either by putting them on the map or making suggestions through reviews.

  3. Through this program, I have met people that I would ordinarily not have because of our very dissimilar professions. I like meeting new people…absolutely priceless

  4. The program means I have to charge my phone when going to new places because it is going to be picture time.

  5. The program drives my inquisitiveness about places and businesses. I tend to ask and observe more than ever before. I would ordinarily “mind my business”

The Local Guides program has been mostly fun for me. I love to have fun.
