Hello all the local guides!
I am Jaydip from India and the Google Local Guides Program has a very significant impact on my life. I have been part of local guides from last three years now. I love visiting new places to find out the amazing things about that place and then love sharing reviews and photos about that in maps.
I found out about the local guide program accidentally. I was using Google maps and then some saw a pop-up message about that place. I was asked to answer some question about that place like is wheel chair available or not? This lead me to the local guides programme. After that there’s no stopping. I continued contributing about the places I visited. I am also a part of one more community. Always loved helping people this helps me going every day.
Here are some of my best reviews. I keep visiting new places and hotels. I regularly go back and forth from my little home town to some of India’s biggest metro cities like Kolkata, Delhi etc. This gives me access of a very vast area to cover in local guide. Also there are very less people around my home town who are in local guide program and helping people. This gives me more responsibility and encouragement to help more and more people around here.
I also came to know that my reviews about shops I have visited helps them to get more people on their shop.
One more feature that I love about local guide that I can edit the names of a various places if they aren’t correct or delete one place which has been added inappropriately. I can contribute in naming palaces with local language as I know all the local languages.
I have a bucket list of my favorite places where I want to go atleast once New York, Disney Land, Norway for Northern Lights and the list goes on and on.
