What local guides means to me: Trust, truth, priceless travel/gastronomy guidance and legacy

The local guides program has introduced me to a whole international community that shares my passions, which are travelling, trying exquisite cuisines around the globe, photography and video recording**.**

Chichen Itza, Yucatan- Mexico

I discovered the program while travelling around my home country, Peru, and Latin America, and now I live in Canada. Everyone who has travelled knows that you must know someone to take you to the places where you can experience the real everyday life and culture of the country that you visit. I have faced many time the real struggle of finding the typical home made food which carries the ancestral knowledge and flavors passed through generations, and we all know that everywhere, we find touristic restaurants, bars, clubs, etc., made for “tourists”, regarding prices and flavors.

Machu Picchu, Cusco- Peru

This is where Local Guide program comes in handy, as I know, from a customer’s perspective, and as a tourist or from a local’s point of view, if the place I want to visit is truly authentic. For example, if you travel to Latin America, you want a real club to dance salsa or bachata or maybe a typical dance such as folklore, not a club with music you find in your hometown. When travelling around Europe, for instance, Italy, you actually want to try the original shrimp risotto.

Seafood Risotto, Trapani, Italy

We all want a true and sincere opinion from a community that has already tried what you are planning to experience so that your trip will be as authentic and unique as possible, being immersed completely in the culture of a country. However, if you do not find the advice you need, then, there is a possibility for you to contribute to the global community that has made you experience that best original Peruvian ceviche with pisco sour, or that nice tango dancing place in Argentina, or that incredible seafood paella in Spain.

Mixed seafood Paella- Madrid, Spain

For adventures, those astonishing beaches around Portugal with the best hiking routes or which companies to do the kayaking adventure.

Praia do Camilo, Lagos-Portugal

We live in a connected world, where we find people from all walks of life who give their time and effort to keep growing the database of places/advices around the globe and it just feels great to be part of this community that support each other with honesty and with no other interest than sharing their experience of what to do, where to go as well as the don’ts.

Whether you are a foodie, an enthusiastic traveler/backpacker, photographer, video maker, you will find people interested in any niche you could think of and if not, you will be the pioneer for others to follow, what better than combining the pleasure of delicious food with amazing landscapes!

Original napolitan pizza from Gino e Toto Sorbillo with a sunset in Capri, Italy

I just love knowing that even if people out there, cannot travel, they can watch my videos posted of the Vatican, or the amazing beaches in Italy, or the amazing sunset in Capri, or the hikes in Machu Picchu, through my photos and videos, I want to help people get a taste of the place they dream to visit or the food they want to try or the music the want to dance to, and who knows, maybe change their mind to show them what a beautiful country Peru is, as well as all the other 10 countries that I have visited so far.

Local guides program offers a world of possibilities from a trustful source for everyone and I consider my contribution as part of my legacy to the world, for generations to come. I encourage everyone to follow their dreams and to see the world, and to welcome all of you beforehand to Peru!
