Hello and I had been in The Local Guides Program since past 1.5 or 2 years something . For me , as a local guide and a med student means a safer travel with a lots of stories, making friends and keeping up to improve the above.
So after discovering about the local guides program my concept of travelling about how to interact , who to navigate through the streets , who to bargain especially in India , who to access medical health while travelling all my experiences can now reach to the adventures ready to go travel buddies and my local guide friends too. When I went for my 700 kms bicycle ride throughout the ride I keep on updating the stop which i took like restaurant on the highway like which are safer , had proper hygiene and sanitation because it’s must as a cyclist myself . So i keep on posting reviews about restaurant , about the toll on highway , about the wildlife sanctuaries and national parks which i visited and their timings , their seasonal timings and fares too. So for me as a local guides the program keep me this platform were i can post every angle of the place which I’m visiting and this also gives the local shops and small businesses a great help to boost their life and go out and review other place like me . So the feedback loop keeps on going and the safety concerns are must because i have to get the best place in the highway while cycling and also while travelling via train, air or buses. So safety and friends together is the best combo as per me and the local guide review and photos which others post which gives me the right view and info about the place and this is why it means a lot to be a local guide and what the program means to me. Also the program appreciates me regularly via email via achievements. Main thing are the local guide community we go for a street food ride in cities we visit like Manali, Chandigarh, Chandni Chowk Of Delhi, Also the Bazzars Of Jaipur , The Charminar Bazzar Of Hyderabad , The Streets Of My Own City Bhavnagar And Many More. The Program gives me the moment of travelling to that place right now by reading many reviews. Also the gatherings the meetups were as a photographer we go for street editing.
At the end i would conclude that The Local Guides Program is like a cycle and cyclist both needs feedback , both needs the heartbeat of adventure , the legs of always coming friends and a correct and safer and adventurous path.
The lists are the best i think because they give you the exact places you should visit first if you are in hurry which i am as we have short vacations . So i also while making lists am always precise about the place which i am adding.So that people can get the best from that specific category of list like i made on the playgrounds in my city.
The editing option is must because sometimes you are misguided but reviews helps a lot and as a local guide it help me a lot and also feedback it for others.
My final notes are that being a local guide the program gave me a superb platform to make the world and travelers a safer , informative and keep going till the beat path.
