It all started because my father it`s a Local Guide Level 6, you can find him as fulcruz, so him and I began a competition to be the best Local Guide in our city.
Since he told me that I could gain points by only posting pictures and writing reviews about any place, my mind just when crazy, even though, I haven’t been a Local Guide for so long, it has impact me in so many ways, that I haven’t realized until I was writing the first draft. I was in a moment of my life where I barely wanted to go out, I was struggling a lot with school and family problems and I also, didn’t feel like going out honestly.
So when I posted my first picture and got their firsts views, I was really happy, so, in a certain way, it pushed me to go out more, because I wanted to beat my dad, in a healthy way of course, it only got 698 views (at least by now), it is a Water Park, incredible by the way, it has a Geyser and the pools over there are absolutely hot, so it`s the correct place if you want to run away for a Weekend and get yourself relax, I think it was a great picture to begin with.
The views really make me happy, whenever I got an email of my current views, its really surprising for me that, that amount of people saw my pictures, so I feel a bit famous, and am also feeling like am contributing something to someone that its looking for that specific place.
This has been the most viewed picture on my profile, it was a Supermarket in Mexico City.
I started to go out more, and whenever I went out, either with my friends, family or whoever was, I needed to take a picture of everything, so I could show to my dad how much views I got.
And its funny, because none of my family or friends were used to me using the phone to take pictures about anything, I actually thought that it was kind of embarrassing, but since I’ve been a Local Guide, my phone its always part of me whenever I go outside, I`ve learn to not judge, even though it sounds like it has nothing to do with this topic, a lot of people see me strangely when am taking pictures, and back then, it would have been really stressing for me, but now, am a Level 5, so, not even the weird looks would stop to become a Level 6.
In conclusion, being a Local Guide for me, means that, anywhere I go, there’s an opinion to give, so others can take advantage of it.
At the moment I haven’t met someone who`s a Local Guide but my dad, I would like to share all these experiences with people who has the same hobby as I do.
It has become a personal challenge to be useful for other people.
