What Local Guides means to me: live better, open mind and connect humans

It’s about one year from the day that I become a Local Guide! This is a wonderful journey for me. The Local Guides program has change the way l live, travel and my mind. Honestly, Local Guides gave me many chances to be a better version of me.

With others’ supporting on Local Guides, I make better decision when I consider about where I should go for eating, cafe, relaxing, doing sports, especially where I travel and what activities I should try. Obviously, I save lots of time to consider about my plan daily and I also have more interesting experiences in a good places that is identified by other local guides. I found out many lovely coffee shops, excellent local restaurants, and nice sport centers when I was traveling around my country and Thailand.

Besides the conveniences I have from Local Guides, I realize that I could support other people who also love travel and need guides to know about strange places. To be a local guide is a meaningful happiness with me.

I could share my experiences with many people to help them decide easier. I also help local business owners to introduce their business to others. By that way, local guides like me could encourage the development of local business and give them many opportunities to improve. I still remember my conversation with a young owner of a small tea shop in Can Tho city, he shared about his happiness when he read the reviews from local guides. That motivated him to improve his quality serving.

The most important thing Local Guide program gives is connecting with many people around the world not only people that I met in person but also people who just know through our reviews or photos. I opened mind to learn many beautiful lessons from new friends. They share me about their cultures, their stories, their experiences. In fact, I had many chances to be a member of cute teams that we traveled together, shared nice experiences even if we just met in the first time. They actually taught me so much about the life, motivated me on my journey. I feel that the connection between humans and humans is the great beauty which everyone desires to belong to.

Finally, I really love Local Guides program because I could introduce many interesting destinations to many international friends. Honestly, I hope that my reviews and photos could support foreign visitors have the great experiences when they discover Vietnam.

Thank for being a local guide. Thank for connecting everyone around the world.

Hello @HiepTran92 You might have wondered what happened to the first posts you wrote, as that all of a sudden disappeared, right? Well, actually, they were accidentally caught in our spam filter (which is quite strict out here). I have now released them and merged them with your newest post, to avoid that your Connect account would get flagged as spammer.

The result is that the content of your first posts is now added as a comment to your second post. If you want, you can remove the content of that comment by clicking the ‘…’ at the bottom of the comment and then simply removing the content there (or replace it with something like “content removed as it was an accidental duplicate”).

If you’re new to Connect, this post will probably be a good starting point. Best of luck with your application for Connect Live!

Hello JanVanHaver,

Thank for your supporting.

I’m a new in Connect. That is the first time I post in Local Stories and my Internet connection was not good. So I edited many time in the first post. I think that is a reason.

After reading you comment, I understood.

Thank you again. Hope that you have a nice weekend.

We al were starters here at some point @HiepTran92 :grinning:

One more thing which is quite important here on the forum: if you want to make sure that another Connect user sees a reply you give, make sure to ‘tag’ them by typing the ‘@’ symbol and then select that user from the list (or start typing the name if there is no list).
