Hey there local guides! I am so excited to share my story here!
Let me introduce myself a little. I am a local guide based in Hong Kong since 3 years ago. At the same time, I am also a YOUTUBER introducing Hong Kong culture and our language, Cantonese, to the world.
Although you don’t know chinese character, looking at the name of my channel,
“Hong Kong in the World”, you may know it is something about culture interaction. That’s exactly what I am doing in my video.
But you may ask “how this related to Local Guides?”.
I know everyone like travelling, right? Like me, every year I seek chance to travel somewhere. Japan, Maldives, Switzerland,etc, beautiful scenes are always attractive.
But Hong Kong is a small city. It is always not on your travel checklist. In fact, Hong Kong has so much good views that you never believe they were in Hong Kong.
I love my home. I was always thinking how I can promote my lovely place to the world.
Three years ago, when I was planning my first self-journey to Japan and googling tourist information, I found GOOGLE MAP help me so much, especially when I travelled alone. Good restaurants, beautiful spots, transportation method, you can find all necessary information in just one APP. Therefore, I decided to make my own contribution on Local Guides and try to expose Hong Kong on the internet.
But wait! I think travelling should be something more than that.
Travelling somewhere, besides from enjoying attractive food and scene, for me, culture and language interaction are also what I focus. This sparked me to make my own YOUTUBE channel for complementing cultural information, language knowledge and travel tips to all people who are interested in Hong Kong.
Local Guides and my youtube video do complementary action. I love sharing local information. I am trying my best to attract people know and get interested to my home. Local Guides Program guide tourist the way to visit my home. I found this the best way to promote my home to the world!

Now I am a level 6 local guide in Hong Kong and and get introduce my home to 25,000 youtube fans from 10 countries. Sharing local information to the world is fun and bring me sense of accomplishment. Besides from being Local Guides on Google Map, I am also a real local guide who try to gather my youtube fans from different countries.
I like cultural interaction very much! We used 4 languages to chat. So much fun!
Local Guides has helped me introduce my home to the world. Before I knew Local Guides Program, I have no idea how I can show my place to the world. Now, I find it is not that difficult. I love sharing local information to all. It becomes a part of my life and I like this lifestyle. Knowing the Connect Live 2020, I recognize the possibility further promoting Hong Kong to more than 80 countries. That’s why I am looking forward to the event Connect Live 2020 so that I can meet you guys and become better skilled at sharing my home with the world!
