What Local Guides means to me: For me its all about sharing your Food and Travel Experience to World

Hello / Assalam O Alekum / Namaste / Hola / Salam / Aloha / Nǐ hǎo,

I still remember when I wrote my first review on Google Maps about a Buffet Restaurant. Unlike other Local guides who had a Great experience and they thought to share it with world, my experience was pretty Bad which made me realize that this should be shared with everyone.

Once posted my 1 star review, I realized that it’s a social responsibility for me and everyone to their other fellow mates to share their experiences with any place they visited, so it’s like a Open Source Software where anyone in community will contribute and product gets better with time. That was the thought that provoked my Inner Wanderer to start writing about the places I visit.

Since I am a Food Lover and I specially Love Authentic Flavors as well as big fan of Fusion food, where local people alter original recipe to match the taste buds of local people. I mostly write about the food. I love all kind of foods, either it’s American Burgers, Mediterranean Mandi or Shawarma, Chinese Noodles or Indo-Pak Rice and Curry. I just love to taste what comes my way.

Growing up in Karachi, Pakistan which is like NY city of Pakistan, Street food always inspires me most. Tried some of best foods of my life as Street Food, Experienced same in Dubai, UAE as well as my trip to New York. Either you eat Bun Kabab (Pakistani Style Burger) in Karachi, or Shawarma in Streets of Karama, Dubai or Halal Guys in New York. All flavors are like a little piece of heaven.

You won’t believe that by that time I have experienced13+ flavors of Biryani (a Rice dish originally served in Pakistan :pakistan: / India :india: ). The interesting part is that Biryani actually have 20+ Authentic flavors. Every Biryani recipe, depending on its origin brings a slight different version of itself. :rice: Biryani from Karachi, Pakistan will have Potatoes in it. Biryani from Hyderabad, India will have a Boiled Egg served in it and likewise. I was lucky enough to be born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan where I have tasted more than 7 flavors of Biryani and when moved to Dubai, UAE, I experienced even more. Even my phone autocorrect suggest me “Happy Biryani” when I am trying to wish “Happy Birthday” to someone  .

Having said all about food, I also love to explore Fun places likeTheme Parks , Zoo :lion: , Themed Hotels like Great Wolf :wolf: Lodge, Cruises :passenger_ship: , Natural Beauty Places like Smoky Mountains :mountain_biking_man: in Georgia. It gives me a real sense of satisfaction when I get email from Google that my photos have reached a new record or someone liked or commented on my review. It give me a feeling that I am connected to world and doing something I am doing just for my inner satisfaction and for well being of others.

It also happened sometime that my reviews are read by the Owner or Manager of the place and they personally thanked me for a Non-Biased review and were glad that somebody is helping them grow their business without asking anything n return. It is simply a Win-Win situation for everyone, owner, customer and last but not the least Local Guide himself :slightly_smiling_face: :+1: .

When I reached level 5, I received a pair of Socks from Google as a token of appreciation, I never wore them and might not in future as well. I would like to keep them as a reminder for myself to keep doing good stuff. Just like a great saying from Klaus states “A true selfless act always sparks another”. I wish that all the selfless acts from all Local Guides keep sparking another and the ripple effect never end.

On this great saying I would like to end my post and hope to see every great Local Guide soon in Bay Area.

Bye / Allah Hafiz / Namaste / Adiós / Aloha / Zàijiàn
