The Program:
The Local Guides program is connecting more and more with my daily life. Every time I go somewhere or want to, I try to find out information beforehand and even share what I have on a continuous basis. Getting and sharing information giving me a sense of fulfillment and joy at the same time. The Gamification on the program is really pushing myself in a sweet manner to connect every day whenever possible and achieve those points and badges :). Now being a level 6 guide I want do much more to help the global community.
Being Inside:
It’s been few years I’m involved in the Local Guide Program. Didn’t know much about it before and was unable to see at what extend I could help people or get help to explore new places, culture and community. But today it’s more clear to me that collaboration in this way can make a great impact within our self and others. It’s my communication skill, approach and connecting with words getting stronger and meaningful.
I’ve visited USA, UK, Trinidad and Tobago, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Barbados, India, Thailand, Singapore and Saudi Arabia, but was not connected with the local guide program. Now I know how much I have missed and how much I could have helped people by sharing my experiences around the Globe while I was traveling. Now that I understand this and share information, I feel joy and fulfillment that I’ve done something for the community. The way I could have get helped, now someone else will and will save a lot of time and effort from their end.
It’s a Joy:
I love being a Local Guide as it allows me to help others, it can reach from an individual to a large organization. I’ve added and update address, website information, phone and pictures of many places and organization which will help many people to find the latest information about them. I was able to help many organization to reach their potential clients by reviewing their place, specially restaurants I’ve visited with my family. It gives me a great sense of achievement when people find it helpful.
The Kick:
The monthly e-mail “Thanks for your recent contributions” is just awesome. Getting the summary of my contribution energies me to do more for the community. Specially when I see the photo views and new records make me go crazy about contribution. It’s kick of the Gamification ![]()
