Living in Russia means living among old historical arcitecture, Soviet buildings and modern inclusion, and it creates unusual location for our life! As a beginning Local Guide I can show people bright kaleidoscope of Russian reality. Every region in our country has interesting artifacts of past. It might be old wooden village, old factory or typical Soviet buildings.
Special attention I would pay to Soviet “artefacts” because Soviet Union left a lot of marks in the world and I’m sure that many people not only Russians but the World would be interested in taking a look at some unusual places.
Another thing that Local Guides program helps me to share is abandoned places. Industrial time of 20th century and difficult post-soviet time left us many abandoned or half abandoned places, like factory buildings, storages, pioneer camps or different industrial (or even former military) spaces. Such places have incredible atmosphere, its own history. I’m sure that we should pay attention to these places as a part of our history. Moreover, such industrial spaces can help people find inspiration, give a new outlook on things.
Being a Local Guide let me share interesting places with other people. Google Map notifications remind me to add photo or to share my opinion and it is really useful - you never know when interesting place catch you!
One more thing that I want to show is interaction between nature and civilization, two things modern people contain.
Local Guides means to me sharing information and exploring the world around us. We always can find something new nearby and we are forbidden to miss this opportunity.
