One of my passion is to share something beautiful, something nice, something tasty to my friends, to other people. Not only to share the photos, the writings, but more than that, to share the experience, share the happiness.
I started becoming a local guide when Google asked me to upload my photos to the Google Maps. Afterward Google has been challenging me to contribute more and more. Then it becomes like a habit for me. When I enjoy beautiful sceneries, or enjoy tasty foods, I am urged to share my experience. So, every time I contribute, I feel like I share my happiness to other people. I want other people also feel the same happiness experience like me. This triggers me to share and contribute more.
At the same time Google also challenge me with badges, with levels. I feel like being honored and rewarded, even though I realize it is intangible. But happiness is intangible, isn’t it?
In fact, other kind contributions are also useful to other people. Giving reviews to restaurants or other places can be of benefits too to anybody. People can decide to choose based on our reviews. To contribute reviews also make me happy.
When somebody asked questions on Google Maps, and I know and can answer, this also makes me feel very good and satisfied.
Thanks to Google that makes Google Maps not only useful for traffic navigation, but also a platform for many people like me to contribute and share happiness. I hope that the more Local Guides participate, the better and the more accurate Google Maps will be.
