What Local Guides means to me: being a travel junkie again

Connect Live 2020 - The Local Guides program has had a significant impact on my life since I got signed up. To me, being a Local Guide means being a travel junkie again.

Through my involvement in the Local Guides program, I was being a travel junkie again. I’ve learned so much about culture and diversity. Since I’ve traveled internationally, I have a lot I can learn from locals. Local Guides have introduced me to their customs, favorite treats, and passions. Ultimately, this program celebrates our differences while also uniting us by what we have in common: our love for exploring and trying new things!

I love how being a Local Guide allows me to help others. Specifically, I’ve been able to help small business owners and big business owners, and I’m able to help their potential customers by leaving photos and reviews to help guide their decisions. Some of my most helpful reviews and photos are for hotsprings place at Peninsula Hotsprings in Victoria, Australia; some 4 stars hotels in the Netherlands and it’s intriguing that it’s been so helpful. I think it may be because of the explanation and photographic I gave about a common places needs. It could also be that sometime I provided video about what to expect within the place which is different than it appears from the outside looking in.

I also love the family ‘sharing time’ when we were gathered. I get from being a Local Guide. The monthly email gives exciting information about how many people I’ve helped, and if a place I’ve been with my partner is highlighted, I love to forward the email to show them the specific difference my contributions are making. Sometimes, when it comes down to the numbers, I am proud!

Keep travelling.
