Hi! I’m Gisel and I’ve been a local guide since 2016 when Google sent me the invitation to join this platform and share my experiences.
At first I took it as a game where I was earning points for contributing, but over time I started to take it as a way to share what I like the most, exploring and getting to know new places.
Today I share mostly about learning from other cultures which I really like, and I think that a good way to do this is through the food, so my main contributions are about gastronomy from different places around the world.
Some of my favourites:
Burguer with patagonic meat and patagonic beer
This is a fantastic burger, made with ingredients from argentinean patagonia and with a lamb medallion, delicious!
Chivito with vegetables
I am from the province of Cordoba, in the center of Argentina. Here you eat chivito, which is a kind of goat. Its meat is very tasty and has a strong taste but it is very soft and it crumbles when you eat it if it is well prepared. It is a typical dish from my region. Try it when you can!
Traditional Arabian food
Arabian food is very spicy and one of my favorites. One of the ways to try it is in picada, where they serve small dishes with several typical foods to taste. Very aromatic!
Traditional lunch of Colombia
The traditional food in Colombia is based on salad, soup, a protein (chicken, pork or fish), rice with coconut and patacón (banana bread). It is very exotic but filling and abundant.
I really enjoy seeing how you can help others get to know new places or give them an insight into what they can expect from a certain place.
Im very excited to discover new places that are not on the map and to be able to share them, I think that is one of the most important things that can be done in Local Guides and that helps to grow the network
My favorite place added is a bar called “Ibiza” which is located in the middle of the sea a few minutes by boat from the coast of San Andres, it really is a fantastic place, where you can enjoy a good drink, a good time surrounded by the sea and around some colorful fish.
I really look forward to going to Connect Live 2020 so that I can broaden my horizons and learn more about how to improve my contributions
