What Local Guides means to me? Availability and transparency

Hello guys! This is me (if you haven’t check Introduce myself - March 2020 )

My first touch with Local Guides was in 2016. Since that time I started to use it more often.

The very first time I used this service was situation when I was looking for exactly place for some time and walking around the block for 5 or 10 minutes. There is no need to say that I was disappointed when realised that place was totally closed and I vaisted my time in vain. Feeling very strong emotions I made my first comment and requested for place changin.

Since than little by little with automatical tips and reminds from Google this service become more involved in my life. Nowdays visiting new place makes me inspired to write a review or rate it at least. If it’s good I want people to know about that and but if it’s bad I must warn everyone. I guess this comes from my job. All my life I work in a service (starting with postman after school to participating in Olimpic games 2014 and working at a 5* hotel now) and communicate with other people. I used to give advices, answer questions about city and offer interesting ways of spending free time. All in all it’s more than 10 years of this experience and now it’s some kind of Pavlov dog reflex to ask if I could help with something when I saw someone with map at the street.
The thing that exites me about Local Guides most of all is the thing that everyone may say his thoughts about any place. So I may read all the information and make a decision. Even if someone wants to deceive everyone or hide problem it would not work. People will know about that lie and share information with each over and no matter if I’m living here or came for a tourist trip. If I do not speak local language there will be someone who write a comment I may read.I have my Local Guide service to lead me through this thicket and no matter if don’t know any one personally. People left comments and their opinions for me and I do the same. This is a part of big international trend to feel yourself free with help of others and let them feel the same. Thinking of this makes me crazy in a good way.

One of the most seen pictures I’ve made:

It was done for myself but I decided to share it and I guess people watch it not becuse it’s piece of art (I mean photo, not mosaic of cource).

Such responce brings me to continue what I’m doing even if I have doubts sometimes. I hope Local Guides help me to bring myself on a new level of skills cause I’m sure there is many thing to do and explore.

Service is growing and I want to be a part of that as long as I can.
