Hello.
My name is Budiono, a Local Guide level 8 from Tangerang, Indonesia. I love traveling and discovering new places. I use Google Maps very often to navigate my way to many places I’ve never been before. It is free of charge but really helpful and has big impact to many people.
In 2015, I found out about Google Local Guides program which gave opportunity to anyone, including me, to contribute and make Google Maps better. Of course, I want to be a part of that!
Google Local Guides program has become a platform for me to make impact to society.
By being Local Guide, I can actively help many people by providing more accurate information about place, like its exact location or point, its opening hours, and also its quality that I described on a review. I really hope that my contribution will ease life of many people whenever they navigate from one place to another, discover new place they never visit before, and choose the right place to dine, shop, or just hang out.
Not only about navigation, as a Local Guide, I can also help promoting local business. I can create a new place or local business on Google Maps and make the business more visible to many potential customers. The reviews for local business that I made also can be a powerful recommendation to attract more customers.
Being a Local Guide also gives opportunity to me to meet new people who have similar interest and gather occasionally to discuss and create a strategy to improve our contribution. I joined Tangerang Local Guides last year and attended their meetup last month. It was fun to be in a community and collaborate with them making bigger impact to society and local business in Tangerang area. I definitely look forward to attending or maybe hosting the next meetups soon.
