Hey Local Guides today i want to share what it means to be A Local Guide.
Going back In 2017 I used Google Maps for the first time and started contributing since 2018, that’s where my journey begins, I was not totally aware of the program but just kept sharing my experience about place which reflected on my timeline. After sometime when I got mails saying “your Photos are making impact” “Your reviews are helping others” and that’s when I realized that each contribution counts, I started writing better since I realized the information is being read by many users who are trying to find out information regarding a particular place or Business. In few of the reviews I even got feedback from the Business Owners and that’s when I came to know the important role it plays to help the business too.
As we know today everyone is dependent on Google Maps for searching a Place, a Business, Getting Information about the place, it is also Used commercially by Delivery Apps, Courier Services, Cab Drivers etc, I was keen to know how I can help more that’s when I randomly came across Local Guides Connect Community and joined it. Here I came to know what all things we can do to help others, I learnt to Edit Maps (added few Roads, missing place, checked facts etc) though these features were already there but I actually came to know how I can use them and make more impact to help Thousands of People.
After joining Local Guides connect I also started communicating with many Local Guides Globally, everyday they have different stories to say and inspire more, being a Local Guide is not just about adding Photos and Reviews it is a lot more than that, it taught me how Local Guides Work together as A Team helping thousands of people like you and Me, Networking to learn more from each other, the Moderators who come up with Different Challenges are best way to Do things on Large scale to create Impact on the world. Every day I get a new Reason to Love being a Local Guide and this Journey keeps getting interesting.

selection totally depends on the selection committee but what I liked is that while writing this post I look back to the person who just randomly put up some reviews has now turned into someone who wants to help many others like us.
