The Local Guides program has become a very significant portion of my life ever since I got involved four years ago. To me, the Local Guides program holds a special space in my heart, where making friends and helping others are always a priority.
Since joining Google Local Guides, I have achieved a lot of things, especially in terms of meeting new people. The Local Guides community has given me a lot of friends from all over the country and abroad. I have been lucky enough to meet with them virtually and in-person as well.
To me, the most extraordinary and fascinating experience of the Local Guides program is the “Local Guide Meet Up.” Editing maps, writing reviews, adding photos, correcting errors, eating together, getting presents, etc.; all these things make me very happy indeed.
Being able to meet friends from across the country and abroad is a wonderful feeling. By connecting with people from different places and cultures, I am able to not only learn about them and their cultures but also represent and teach them about my own. Having the opportunity to blend in with everyone, despite our various differences, is such a great feeling.
Nowadays, finding an address in a developing and populous countries like Bangladesh, can be really tough. Nevertheless, people can find anything with a tap of their finger on Google Maps. It really feels nice to immerse myself in this wonderful cooperative task through Google Maps.
It feels so gratifying and nourishing when I see that my reviews, edits, and photos on Google maps are truly useful and are helping people to travel safely and without worries.
The Local Guides program has given me the opportunity to flexibly and seamlessly help people throughout the country – something that would’ve been impossible for me to accomplish before. This newfound identity and purpose is why this Local Guides program means a lot to me.
