What googl guide means to me**: A part of social service and endeavour to make the world a better place to live in.**
I had been a globetrotter till retirement from Atomic energy. During my active service I have traveled to Africa, America ,Europe ,Middle East and interacted with people everywhere and discovered the value of joining hands with people around and getting the information which somebody has put in place like visiting places , restaurants, hotels, attractions on maps and so on.
All the above is available right now on Google and behind these informations one part is played by the local guide who constitute as battalion of Google Army ,and I find myself very proud to be one of them . Whatever reviews I have made on establishments and hotels , restaurants and supermarket have helped over 3500 persons. notwithstanding that even the establishments are benefited by that.
I don’t remember exactly the date when I joined Google guide but it must be within last 4 to 5 years back when I got a message from Google to join this, because I had been actively commenting on various social topics online. I have taken social service as my moral responsibility
while I had been in service as a professor in Mumbai University 5 years back I used to write letters to editor of newspapers on the various local problems . one of them was malpractice done on ambulance services in Navi Mumbai and Msharashtra state .I with other social colleague went up to the High court as a public litigation interest and the state government had to control private ambulance services in whole state.Local Municipalities were directed to provide toll free number for ambulance and charges were reduced to minimum.
Propagation of Yoga is my other mision and I have conducted free of cost in different colleges and medical hospitals by audiovisual and practical demonstration. The session is called “YOGA AND SCIENCE- YOU WILL NEVER FALL SICK OR GET OLD ”. The community knows this as I am a certtfied yoga teacher and I do it always free of cost to community that is why I always get invitation to conduct .yoga class on 21st June, being the international YOGA DAY
On joining Googgle guide I thought this is the best thing now for a retired man to serve the international society because Social Service means a range of public services provided by the private, and non-profit organizations. These public services aim to create more effective organizations, build stronger communities, and promote equality and opportunity
Social services also include the benefits and facilities like education, food ,health care, police, fire service , housing, and community management and they function well if they have good reviews
All these are being accomplished by google Army- the GUIDES.
