What is the most interesting thing you've done as a Local Guide?

I’ve been mapping the locations of capitelles near the village of Laure Minervois where I used to live, in the Aude region of France. These are traditional stone shepherds’ huts, scattered around the fields. They’re on local maps and walking routes, but not on Google Maps, so I’m adding them, along with a custom map showing the walking routes to get to them.

Also, taking my daughter for a walk. Being a local guide is a great excuse for some exercise.

As soon as the lockdown ends and we’re able to go walking again, I plan to photograph each one.

I’ve also been photographing the Labyrinth Vert (Green Labyrinth) near Nébias in neighboring Ariege. This is a spooky place, with moss-covered rocks and trees, hidden within a tiny forest. You could have the best game of hide and seek ever… if the fairies don’t take you away.
