Considering the current Covid 2 pandemic situation, I hope this blog finds you in a good and healthy well-being.
As a Local Guide, I have tried my best to upload as many reviews and pictures of places I have been to, specially of restaurants, cafes and hotels that I have checked in during my tours. The sole intention was to help users like me give deep insights on various places and help them in selecting a place/restaurant from the abundant pool of options available to them.
There is not just one interesting thing I have done as a Local Guide as I feel the entire journey has been interesting and benefiting to both users and businesses, but if I have to point out one thing that I remember the most then it would be a restaurant called The Linkin Barrel.
The restaurant was new in town and was not very popular among local residents. I had published only two pictures of the restaurant’s food including one of a seafood dish. The pictures had received many views. As I had frequented the place many times, the restaurant had my name and number. Few months later, the manager called me expressing his gratitude and thanking me for publishing the photo. He said, ever since I had posted the image, many people came by asking for the specific dish in the photo. Since, I forgot to mention the name of the dish (my mistake :P), customers used to visit and show them the photo from Google Images. The manager said it really helped them in getting more numbers and spreading the word around. I even got a free drink the next time I went there 
I was deeply touched by this experience, knowing that both people and restaurants were finding my reviews and photos helpful. I felt happy to know that someone can be motivated to try a new place based on my feedback. It only encouraged me to be more active and upload as many reviews and photos as possible. In my own way, I find this a noble job and would continue to contribute as much as I can
