I come from a small remote village of India. My village is in the Gir forest range which is home to Asiatic lions. The Forrest is home for 500+ Lions
My family has been living in the remote village since last 8 generations. As a result I have a good touch with local people. Also, my personal network has become very wide thanks to my active participation as local guide. People who have benefited from with my help are connected to me over social media and are regular touch.
As of now we are going through nationwide 21 days lock-down due to Corona outbreak. I got SOS call from nearby contact. Two Families were struggling to get essential medicines and household stuff. We did a survey in the region and identified 60 poor families who were in dire need of help. With help of my friends, I prepared a kit which included wheat, milk powder, vegetables, cooking oil, basic medicines and sanitization kits. We quickly distributed the kit to the families.
I am proud to say that we were able to act faster than the government agencies. While world is putting great efforts in containing the pandemic, I am contributing in my own way.
