What is the most interesting thing you've done as a Local Guide?

Hi there,

Last year I successfully conducted two private food tour of East Java. My guests came from Penang and Hong Kong. They enjoyed the tour very much. The tour group consisted of three guests, myself and a driver. We visited Batu, Malang and made Surabaya our base station.

Altogether we spent six nights and seven days. During the tour we visited a number of restaurants and tried their signature dishes. Apart from food tasting, we also visited a horse ranch and a fruit farm where we went for horseback riding and picked apples respectively.

Being a local guide has offered me an opportunity to travel with a group of fun people while honing my skill as a local guide in delivering the most memorable travel experience.

My plan for 2020 is to continue with the same private food tour program and fine tune it even further.

As I am based in Hong Kong, I also plan to organize a local food tour in Hong Kong by introducing unique restaurants in Hong Kong. I have done this kind of food tour in the past. Now thanks to Local Guides Connect I hope I can take it to the next level by promoting the local food culture here in Hong Kong.

Another project I am doing now is to create the world’s first YouTube restaurant guide for Hong Kong and East Java. This is something I couldn’t find on any youtube channel. Hopefully we can integrate youtube video on the Local Stories platform soon. This will surely help other local guides to create their own tour programs.

I’m now posting all the restaurants and places I have visited on my youtube channel. This I will do on a weekly basis to build the database organized into different categories by using playlists.

Below is one example:

Hope you enjoy the video.

Cheers,

Hi @csetyono ,

It seems that you’ve shared a post for your Connect Live 2020 application. Keep in mind, one of the requirements is to share your post on Local Stories, so I’ve moved your post there, thanks.

Feel free to have a look at the application guidelines and find some handy tips for creating an application post.
