Usually the places I have reiewed for whether good or not in the US did not response me at all. But the one (Leonardo City Tower) I have reviewed last year in Israel did contacted me. And the manager chatted with me that they found out the bad service they provided and would check out the issues. It means the google map review is a much bigger deal to them as a foreign country besides the US. It is of an critical impact as a representative all over the world. As a Local Guide, I’m conformed my opinions worth its weight more than gold.
