In September 2016, I was walking to a store to collect an item I had purchased online when I saw International School of London on Gunnersbury road. It was a lovely sight and quite surprising because I have walked same road few times before and never noticed. I decided to take the picture of the school out of curiosity and share with others. Later that evening google map prompted the question “do you know International School of London?” I immediately posted the picture on google map and after a month it has been viewed 5,000 times.
It felt so good that I have helped others to find this school, as at today (4th March 2020), there are 968,931 views for the International School London picture. Once I knew I could be of help to others, it became a natural thing for me to do. I take and upload pictures of places I visited on the map and also often write reviews out of my busy schedule.
The most interesting I have done however is a review of a fraudulent company called “phones 2 pounds” which prevented many other victims until recently when the company started trading a again. They offered to buy used phones, in January 2018, when I upgraded my Samsung galaxy 6 to 8 I sold it to them as their offer was the highest. They received the phone and re-valued to a lower price which I rejected and they refused to return my phone till date and no payment was made. There was no way to contact them, they neither answer their phone nor respond to emails.
The impact that the local guides can have on the community is invaluable if we all share our experiences honestly. I reviewed many other businesses and services which has attracted many customers as result. As a matter of fact, I rely on the map information to commute, eat out, shop and visit places. With the local guides, the world will always be a better place.
