Being part of such a huge community, has been an amazing experience! It’s amazing to see how people share, contribute and most importantly connect around the world.
I was introduced to Google Local Guides in 2017 by a friend I had met a couple of months before. I immediately got hocked up! I have always loved to travel and to meet new people and being able to contribute and help people at the same time was just a huge motivation factor! How many of us have gone to a place just ´to find out that it was permanently close? 
I think that we all have our stories to share, let’s be honest, the funniest things always happen when we’re least expecting! So I’ll share the most interesting that every happened to me as a Local Guide.
In 2018 I decided to go on my first solo travel and I went to Poland on a 1 week trip. I absolutely loved it! It was a great experience and since then I have taken many others. In the last couple of days of the trip something very funny happened… I was taking pictures of the restaurant where I had just had eaten. Imagine my surprise when, out of the blue, somebody touches my shoulder and says “Hi, I’m also a local guide!”. Her name was Karolina and she was a local guide as well. My heart jumped a beat, initially, but after a short while we were talking happily. She took me to a super nice bar with an incredible view. Clearly not know by tourists as I was the only non polish person there 
. We started sharing our experiences with Local Guides and a bit about ourselves and we ended up talking until the bar closed!
The day after, we went again for lunch and we planned to go around in the afternoon. We took lots of pictures and she shared some tips! It was super fun! At the end of the day I thanked her for everything and continued my journey…
Little I know that I had been taking all the pictures with her phone and that I had none to publish to write my reviews with!! 
You can all imagine my face when I arrived home… Not one of my brightest moments!
It’s fun how can two people connect from such a small thing. I owe this amazing moment to Google Local Guides! I loved this trip and this was definitely one of the best and most interesting things that ever happened to me as a Local Guide!
Don’t be afraid to connect! You never know what can happen!
