What is the most interesting thing you've done as a Local Guide? Help new business.

Have you ever been to a small restaurant or shop that just opened? I have been, several times, and the feeling of being one of the first customers is always unique.

When you enter in a “just opened” place, the person in charge usually wants to show you around, explain the products and talk about the business trajectory. And, from my experience, there is nothing like the happiness of seeing someone doing what they love.

I’m not talking about big franchises or old businessmen. I’m talking about that chef who just opened his bistro, the baker who launched his coffee, or the hairdresser who opened his first salon. How cool it is to feel that you are part of a great achievement in the person’s life!

This is why I am always looking for small and new doors in around the city, searching the sparkle in the eyes of the people who are working there in a brand new place!

That’s what I felt, for example, when I went to Zuzunely for the first time. I saw a sponsored post on Instagram, and thought “what an interesting place. Why not celebrate my birthday there?” I took the risk of taking several friends to a place I didn’t know, and wow! Grandma-flavored food, surprising drinks and impeccable service. Today I’m a fan!

Another experience I like to share is d’o TACHO. What a beautiful place and what wonderful women who created that place! My meal there was not the best, but that’s what also makes Local Guides cool. You have space to give sincere and polite feedbacks that serve for those responsible to improve their business every day.

This is also true for consolidated stores. I have been a customer for years at various establishments, but sometimes going somewhere is super striking because of a specific employee, and giving feedback on G

oogle is cool to value that person within your professional environment.

That’s what makes a Local Guide so interesting! I like being part of this community, as it allows me to contribute to the growth of small city entrepreneurs.
