Let me tell you a story;
Back in December 2017, It was raining heavily and we were a group of 4 friends and decided to find some amazing places on Margalla Hills. All packed up, we hiked the mountain. In the middle, WE GOT LOST.
It was about to get dark, we knew there was a road linking to the mountain, but we forgot where exactly that was. That time I opened my offline maps. Unable to use my phone due to wet hands. After a lot of struggle, it came out that we were going totally opposite. We started running down the mountain and reached the bottom before getting so dark, google map saved our lives.
Later, I always had my maps updated. I on my bike found amazing places on Margalla Hills using maps always. Some villages, little road side restaurants, water falls, tombs and some amazing views.
NEVER GOT LOST AGAIN.

- Monal and LA- Montana:
The restaurant is located at the top of the mountain, takes 40 minutes drive from the city. Is well known across all the people of the area.
- Neelan Bothu:
Exploring maps on google, I went across this location. Finally, packed my back and asked a friend to join me. Went all the way crossing Margallas.There’s a beautiful village named Neelan Bothu, it takes almost 1.5 hour to reach from main Islamabad city. The village is full of beautiful views and a lake in it. There’s a religious place there too.
- Talhaar Village Tour:
It takes almost 40 minutes from Islamabad to reach there. The village is very beautiful in the center of mountain. There’s no hotel or resort to stay, so you have to come back by night.
- Roadside Resturants:
While crossing the road and going upwards, near Pir Sohawa stop, you’ll find this beautiful cafe. I go there often for breakfast and for evening tea. It’s 1 hour away from city.
- Trails:
If you love hiking then Margalla has a vast amount of trails. Google map lists them all. Trail 5 is my favorite, since it has water streams which I love the most.
