Taking super awesome photos and being an authentic reviewer!
The title’s quite a mouthful right? But that’s only a minimum of what a Google local guide does!
One of the most interesting things I have done was to review an Banquet hall for an Nigerian wedding in London.
There is a lack of suitable, affordable large venues for the black and asian community in London who plan usually large weddings.
Most wedding directories do not include these types of halls and there is a lot of misinformation out there.
When I reviewed Kervan Hall, I was overwhelmed by the response; 5,853 views to date! I have impacted my local community by helping so many couples who otherwise may have missed out on this spectacular building.
Everytime I get an update from Google maps about how well the post is doing, I get such an awesome feeling.
I am genuinely proud of that first post.
This was the post that led me to continue to review and post photos of other experiences to Google Maps.
As a local guide, we have a social responsibility to post authentic reviews and post relevant images. If our reviews can perhaps guide (you like what I did there!) or even inform our local community then we are a part of something much bigger than just our posts.
Regardless of where you are, we are all connected by experiences and being able to share those experiences with my local community is an humbling feeling.
Whether you’re a new business, friends looking to socialise or just want to experience something new, if my review has impacted on your life in some way.
Then thank you for taking the time to read it and here’s to many more authentic reviews as I said before this is just one of most interesting things I have done as a local guide!
