The most interesting thing that I’ve done ever since logging my adventures in Google Maps was to get lost in the province of Pampanga in Central Luzon, Philippines. I know it’s counter-intuitive (it’s a map for Christ’s sake) but I would blame my friends because they couldn’t stop playing Pokemon Go. We went Pampanga to explore the various food places as the province is known for. So I listed our must-visit places like Downtown Cafe, Bale Dutung, Aling Lucing’s Sisig etc. and I was the designated driver while my friends were the DJ, navigator, and the talker. When we were on our way, none of them stuck to their roles as they were glued to their phones playing Pokemon Go. I don’t play that game so I became the driver/navigator for the group.
We visited a lot of places thanks of course to Google Maps and it’s quite interesting that even the unassuming, hole-in-the-wall canteen can serve the best plate of pork sisig! Not to mention the fresh seaweed salad (man that was so refreshing!) Thank God for the app’s all-in-one feature of showing visitors’ photos, reviews and even navigation notes we almost missed the place (by the way, the restaurant is called Mila’s Tokwa’t Baboy, you should visit the place).
So eventually I had to charge my phone from all the navigating so I asked my friend Richard to navigate for me. Little did I know that he completely rearranged all the places we were gonna visit because there was “a gym leader” and “rare pokemon” in that particular place. So the trip went on like that and we had to stop at various unknown areas just for them to “challenge the gym leader” there. So eventually our bellies were full and they got tired playing so we called it a day. That was the time I became a one-day pokemon trainer haha
