What is the most interesting thing you have done as a local guide?

Hi everyone !

I discovered the Local Guide program, it really wasn’t very long ago, for a year and a half or so. I am of Beninese nationality and I live in the city of Natitingou, it is a small tourist town located in the North of the country.

The first observation I made on the program was the absence of several administrative services, tourist places and others (places like hospitals, hotels, restaurants …) in the city. The second observation concerned the accuracy of the information on certain places and locations, which was most often given by foreigners or tourists who did not always master the territory.

As a new guide and native, I have given myself the task of making corrections on the poorly informed locations. The most interesting thing, which I have done and which I continue to do as a local guide, is to always try to fill in if possible a telephone number, a website and photos of the place which I add to google maps.

Among other things, if you take a tour of Benin, I suggest you take a tour of Natitingou, you will enjoy yourself there between its environment, the landscapes, the tourist sites, etc.

Hello @Bernadin and welcome to Connect!

I just wanted to let you know that I have removed the French language tag of your post as it’s written in English. These type of labels are used so that posts in different languages can be found more easily by Local Guides who are speakers of these languages. You can learn more about language tags in the article: How do I find posts in my preferred language?.

In addition, since this is your first post here, you might be also interested to check out Your guide to Connect.
