If you ask me about 5 years ago I had no idea what the program was like as a local guide, but just before I started my adventure of living abroad and traveling I knew this. So being a local guide for me has been a pleasure because while I enjoy the adventure of living, traveling, meeting interesting people, I can contribute so that others benefit as I have.
For example, my first trip in Europe after starting to live in Malta was to Greece, I was going to stay where a friend of a friend, so he sent me the location of his house, so when I left the airport I started to look it up on google maps, and when I had to get off I wanted to confirm that it was the right stop, but what do you think? I realized that no one on the bus spoke English or Spanish, so I took courage and decided to trust 100% in Google Maps, I had no choice and thanks to the fact that many others contributed as a local guide I was able to reach my destination without the greatest concern, without getting lost.
From there and thanks to the support of google maps, I took the courage to make my next trips contributing as a local guide, because regardless of the difference in languages, customs, currency exchange, having the pleasure of living to the maximum my life as I wanted is what fills me the most, of course it is not easy but if you have great allies and tools that facilitate it you can achieve it, and have the reward of meeting amazing, kindly, friendly people who were completely strange and who become your accomplices of travel, adventure, parties don’t have price.
