Having access to the internet has radically changed the way people shop both online and offline. Many people will like to see the impression shop owners or a hotel leave with their customers, resulting in how they think of the services businesses provide before they can put their money on the table to buy a product or service.
I am a regular traveler because I work with a Non Governmental organization and this allowed me to stay in hotels and eat in restaurants around the world. As a Local Guide, I have been able to write candid reviews with the star ratings for hotels and restaurants in places I have traveled to and this review has increased in sales as a result of positive reviews and feedback from me. With the internet readily available for everyone to use, people usually flock to sites that offer complete reviews before they buy a product. Seeing many positive reviews about your brand often leads to increase in sales. Of course, I write negative reviews for places that are not up to expectations.
Having positive reviews is also another way to improve the website’s Search Engine visibility. I write my reviews with keywords of the business service in mind, the more people talk about service or product online, the greater its visibility to Search Engines, such as Google and is the way of boosting their Search Engine visibility.
I also love to tell my story in visual, my pictures of places, culture, foods, and travels have received millions of views and this has shown places have been too to the other Local Guide to experience my travels
The review and rating gave me joy especially in Nigeria where businesses are only interested in the profit, not the service or product they are to offer. Many Nigerians have encouraged me to review more because my reviews have helped them not to waste their money where they are not going to receive values for their money.
I live in Ibadan, the largest city in West Africa. This city was created a thousand years ago by great men and women in today’s world, many of these great warrior’s names seem to be forgotten and you cannot find their family houses on Google Map. In recent times, I have started adding the Houses of these great people on Google Map so that technologically they can be recognised.
