There is a place that is marked incorrectly on Google maps as “Well drilling contractor” when in fact the intended category was just a “water well”. Water wells are pretty common in rural India but I am not sure how are they correctly categorized since I am not aware of a prominent well and couldn’t find one on maps and looking for suggestions. Can someone please help/suggest how to correctly categorize a water well on google maps?
This is the place I am talking about: https://goo.gl/maps/APMgV5oyQzn3ZHrG7

Hi @Jobin_George
If you want to add a place and there is no suitable category, then this is Google’s suttle way of telling you that the place should not be added to Google Maps.
I’m not aware of a relevant category. But maybe others know better.
Cheers

I can understand Google might not want to add private water wells but there are public water wells as well. The same way Google doesn’t want you to add private homes to Google maps, Google doesn’t want you to private property as well. But I am not sure if Google has thought about this well in cultural context.

Very well argued, @Jobin_George .
Feel free to suggest the addition of public water wells as a new category on the Idea Exchange.
Also, It would be really helpful if you would use the tagging tool when replying to someone here on Connect. Type @ followed by the username. Type slowly. Then we get an e-mail notification and you are more likely to get a prompt reply.
